New partnership with premium fashion brand GUESS: E-Commerce logistics for B2C and B2B
GUESS, one of the most recognizable brands in the fashion industry, has diversified its logistics operations and entrusted the service of this demanding sector to Arvato in Poland. The logistics services are handled at CLIP warehouse center in Jasin, near Poznan, including both the online business and business-to-business for GUESS.
The starting point
GUESS was looking for a partner they could trust to build a long-term, and fruitful cooperation to manage their international online business. End customers must receive a seamless shopping experience, and further goals were diversification and reaching high levels of efficiency. Already operating in Italy, the premium fashion brand explored options for a further strategic warehouse location in North Central Europe to ensure a strong focus on Poland. It was crucial to find an international supply chain and e-commerce service provider that could deliver a premium level of service.
Solution
GUESS recognized the expertise of Arvato in Jasin, Poland, with international e-commerce. The Poznan area of their new distribution center is known as the gateway to Western Europe: All major carriers are represented there, and infra-structure is very well developed. Thus, the successful delivery of the premium experience which GUESS customers require is ensured. In the warehouse space of 20,000 square meters dedicated to GUESS, Arvato Supply Chain Solutions provides B2C as well as B2B services. The logistics center provides inbound, warehousing, picking and packing, returns management, and value added services (VAS) for a range of products including clothing, handbags, footwear, home products, and accessories.
Result
The new Polish distribution center completes the planned logistic footprint of GUESS for 2021, which will raise the level of service in North Central Europe significantly. It also ensures adequate distribution capacity for the coming years. All operations are controlled through Arvato’s SAP WMS, customized for the needs of the client. Warehouse infrastructure has been designed, purchased, and installed by Arvato Supply Chain Solutions. In the first year of collaboration, Arvato Supply Chain Solutions will employ around 100 people and during peak seasons this number may even double.
The opening of the fully dedicated e-commerce processing center is the result of the exemplary cooperation and teamwork between Arvato and GUESS, achieved despite the unpredictable pandemic scenario, and which witnessed the birth of this project on time.”
