Olms Verlag and VVA celebrate 65 years of shared success

Topic: Publisher

On July 25, 1960, the foundation was laid for a partnership that continues to this day: the renowned Georg Olms Verlag and the then Kommissionshaus Buch und Ton sealed their cooperation. The Hildesheim-based publishing house was the first client of Kommissionshaus Buch und Ton outside the Bertelsmann Group, marking a milestone in the company’s development.

To celebrate the 65th anniversary of this partnership, Dietrich Olms, M.A., and Manfred Olms visited VVA’s traditional distribution site in Gütersloh. They were warmly welcomed in a festive atmosphere by President Stephan Schierke, Division Manager Dr. Karsten Jakuschona, and Reinhard Stronz, long-time VVA client manager and trusted partner of Olms Verlag. During a tour of the distribution halls, memories of the many technological innovations of the past 65 years—innovations that continue to shape the cooperation to this day—were shared.

The evening concluded in style with a festive dinner at the elegant Parkhotel. A fitting occasion to look back on 65 years of lived partnership—characterized by innovation and mutual appreciation.

Dr. h.c. mult. W. Georg Olms, who celebrated his 98th birthday in May, was unfortunately unable to attend the festivities in Gütersloh in person. As a token of the special bond, he was presented with a custom-designed anniversary cake at the family’s publishing house.
