Circularity and reverse logistics event Türkiye
We hosted the 'Circularity and Reverse Logistics' event, bringing together leaders and partners from the industry to talk about sustainable solutions.
The event, hosted by our colleagues in Türkiye, brought together experts in e-commerce, logistics, and supply chain management. The main goal was to enhance our knowledge about sustainability, provide a platform for experts to share their experiences, and examine sustainability efforts at both the company and individual level.
The event started with talks from our Deputy General Manager İlker Bekbay, Business Development Director Nuriye Altunkaya, and Quality Systems Manager Seda Hüskalar.
Ayşe Gedikli led an interactive workshop that helped participants learn more about circularity and reverse logistics. She used a three-layer cake as a metaphor to illustrate sustainability processes. Each layer of the cake represented different levels of sustainable practices. This approach helped participants understand these concepts more effectively and look at current sustainability processes and areas where we can improve.
The event concluded with discussions about sustainability practices in the retail sector. Participants talked about how to include these processes in their business models. They also discussed challenges like costs, packaging waste, and energy consumption in reverse logistics. They explored strategic ways and technologies to solve these problems.
Our colleague and Logistics Engineer Karoline Kowalik showed different packaging solutions used in our warehouses around the world. This part of the event was very interesting and showcasing real examples where these solutions reduced packaging size by 35%, cut down on CO2 emissions, and aimed to make packaging processes cheaper and less harmful to the environment.
